In Type 2 Conditional sentences, the time is now or any time, and the situation is unreal. They are not based on fact, and they refer to an unlikely or hypothetical condition and its probable result. In a type 2 conditional statement, the tension in the if clause is a simple past, and the tension in the main clause is the current conditional or current continuous condition.
Example:
-It gets wet when it rains.
-It gets wet when it rains.
-If you go to bed early, you won't get so tired.
-If you go to bed early, you won't get so tired.
-If you fall, you will hurt yourself.
-If you fall, you will be injured.
Function:
Type 2 conditions refer to unlikely conditions or preconditions and their possible consequences. These sentences are not based on the actual situation. Type 2 conditional statement.
Example:
-If the weather isn't too bad, go to the park.
-I was the Queen of England, I gave everyone a chicken.
-If you really love me, you will buy me a diamond ring.
-If I knew where she lived, I would go see her.
